sakurauzka seishirou used as a cover image for a fanfic swan song ao3 summary of a fanfic from tokyo babylon/X 1999. the excrept reads: Seishirou has never thought about the meaning of his life. He exists for his duty, and nothing else. Even his name, Sakurazuka, is tied to his occupation, Sakurazukamori. A Sakurazukamori is created and bred to kill. He is fated to die, fated to be replaced, fated to be forgotten. From the moment Seishirou was conceived in his mother’s womb, his soul was already fated to be consumed, buried together with his victims, underneath the very cherry blossoms that give him power. It doesn’t bother him, this cumbersome fate, and he’s never questioned it. It seems only right and fitting that a Sakurazukamori disappears back to the barrow, just as his mother and all his predecessors did. As for his soul, Seishirou isn’t attached to it either— he simply exists. He thinks of himself as a breathing body, experiencing a life he doesn’t have a choice in, and is indifferent to the rest. One night in Tokyo, one final soliloquy. Sakurazuka Seishirou ruminates their past and future the night before Rainbow Bridge. [X-16] Takes place after Annex: Suzuran but can be read stand-alone.

snippet taken from a seishirou/subaru tokyo babylon fanfiction: Subaru had planned all of this, how it would look like if the Sakurazukamori had sent his eagle shikigami, what Seishirou-san would see— another man walking together with his Subaru-kun around the park, another man holding Subaru-kun’s hand, another man’s arm around Subaru-kun’s waist, another man’s shoulder Subaru-kun’s head was lying against. Look , Subaru wanted to say. Look at what you’ve made me. Look at me wearing the coat you bought for me, the fake name you used on me, answering another man’s ad like the loveless sex you taught me. Look at what you’ve done. Look at me—! Subaru burned. He coughed, exhaling gasps of charred air. He’d held the smoke for too long, and his lungs had started to burn from the nicotine. The smoke dissipated into the steam, white ash into white fog. Subaru stared at the tiled wall. There were no shapes hidden inside the white cloud, no shikigami shadow lurking in the corner, no flare of magic on the back of his hands, not even a single lone sakura petal floating before his eyes; there was nothing to indicate the spiritual presence of another.

Collage of Sakurazuka Seishirou and Sumeragi Subaru set on top of a postcard image of yukitsuri from Kanazawa tourism brochure used as a cover for Tokyo Babylon/X fanfic Annex: Snow-catcher on ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/58238905/chapters/148304938 Yukitsuri is the art of tying ropes to protect the pine trees from being crushed from the snow fall weight. Fanfic summary: Seven years after the conclusion of the Bet, Sumeragi Subaru is sent to investigate a case in Kanazawa. Summary of Sakurazuka Seishirou and Sumeragi Subaru fanfic: Autumn 1997. Seven years after the conclusion of the Bet, Sumeragi Subaru is sent to investigate a case in Kanazawa. Excerpt: How the mind tours the wreckage, over and over again as if its ruins were its own amusement park. Shibuya’s Crossing, Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City, Shinjuku’s Godzilla: still the same youthful faces, walking over his wild-torn heart. Survey the scars: death, betrayal, and take each overturned memory, stones gripped so tightly that Subaru’s palms bled from how hard he held on to them. The smallest details, Subaru knew them all. He’ll practice his pain until each miserable flagellation stops having any meaning. Until one day, Subaru could finally say he felt nothing. He’ll tell that man then, with the same indifference displayed: I don’t hate you, but I don’t love you either, and Subaru would mean every word. Now Subaru has no wish for anything else. The illusory smile, the deadly smirk. Same thing. Same man. Subaru will find him. Subaru will be the death of them both.
