This goat’s head rhyton (or drinking vessel) is from late C4th BC southern Italy.

I can’t be the only person looking at this thinking ‘must have one’.

This detail of an Attic black figure vase shows Heracles killing the Nemean lion. With its head twisted back, its flailing paw & its startled eye, it’s a brutal image. This was Heracles’ first labour and where he acquired his distinctive lionskin cloak.

This large model shows Rome at the end of the 2nd century AD. It measures 2.2m x 2.6m and was made by Errol B Davis in 1976.

What famous Roman landmarks can you spot?

The Treasury of Atreus is a large tholos tomb constructed c. 1300 BC in Mycenae.
The tomb is a large circular burial chamber, and was named after Atreus, the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus.
I'm so excited to visit Mycenae next week with a group of Classics Academy students ❤️🏛

This hyper realistic sculpture is The Messenger by Sam Jinks. It is based on a relief of the Greek goddess Iris from the Parthenon. It is an absolutely stunning, mesmerising piece inspired by classical Greek art.

Giro dell’Emilia is one of the most beautiful races on the calendar, not many finishes top this one on San Luca 🏛️

Fun startlist too with Roglič and a stacked RBBH taking it to Del Toro and Pidcock..

Should be an exciting one to watch 👀
