(The rate at which the particular classifier in use fails in a way a human wouldn't have varies wildly from classifier to classifier. Often also each classifier has subtypes of content it's worse at than other subtypes.)

Data science becomes like a thousand times less intimidating coming from an academic background when you realize they're just building models and calling it something different. "I built a classifier" could just mean they ran logit. OLS can be a "classifier"

sorry for being a wet blanket, but the concept of an API endpoint giving unauditable probabilities, from a company whose only answer to questions of how does it work are buzzwords and "dw kitten", gives me a bit of an ick

Let me understand this. Jev is basically an on the fly classifier.
So you could use Jev as a bootstrap classifier in an agentic workflow. Once a classification task becomes stable and volume, you could replace Jev with a dedicated trained classifier for that task, which would be cheap and faster.

When people see the classifier make Type I (sensitivity) errors ("false positive" aka "this was labeled as adult when it is clearly not adult to a human") they get mad because of COURSE no one HUMAN would ever label that, the classifier is horribly biased and wrong, etc.
