This is how I feel when people describe a romance novel with low or no heat as “clean.”
Using the term “clean romance” is so worrisome to me. Like what are you implying about romance that has sexual content? Nothing good. It upsets me every time I see it.

Makes me think of a similar push in literature from books to comics that are advertised as "clean smut," or "clean romance without the ick".
It's so clearly an attack on any sexual content that doesn't fit this stupid "clean" definition. LGBTQ+ content that ain't even 18+ isn't safe either.
