I found this random laptop that I've not really done anything with before, thought I'd give it a whirl, it's a:
Clevo Iridium D22ES - Pentium 4 generation Celeron (I'd say 2003/4 ish),
I slapped in an M.2 to IDE, let's see if I can get NetBSD installed......

90 degrees today, but it's 5 degrees hotter down in Columbus. I've lived through those sticky summers. They're brutal. Thank God for that big ol' lake here in Clevo. She's a bitch in February, but she cools us down in July.

One of my goals this year is resurrecting my old Clevo/Illegear laptop with a few replacement parts & Linux to make it into a digital art machine. Hopefully if it goes well, gonna Linux my desktop as well because I'm up to HERE with Microslop nonsense tbh.

I love this story. Paul Thomas was invited to Clevo, probably for the film fest here. Ernie decided to tag along. Paul was a star director now. On the plane ride here, Ernie said "Now, I used to be a big deal here." Paul didn't really believe him.

I was surfing around for Pekar stuff because a European documentary crew will be here in Clevo next week doing a piece on Pekar. They contacted me to help.
Harvey & I were not pals. We worked for the same weeklies, lived in the same neighborhood, but didn't cross paths much.

I was comped, since I was with the alt-weekly.
It was their 2nd Clevo stop that tour. The 1st at an even smaller venue, the old Grog Shop which held maybe 200.
Oasis returned several times in ensuing years. Wasn't tempted to see them again.
It'll cost $500 a ticket to see them now.

hey DJ/VJ friens - any recommendations for decently specced laptops in the $800 range, or is it worth saving a few more months for a well-specced Clevo? I ideally want something I can travel with and use rekordbox + resolume reliably for events w friends, not using for professional gigs
