As habitat loss, pesticides and climate change pummel monarch populations, migration research could help their numbers rebound.
Monarch butterflies get tiny trackers to help scientists follow their mysterious migration
Every August, monarch butterflies east of the Rocky Mountains begin their migration from southern Canada and the northern United States to central Mexico to hibernate.

(2) it has an unusually yimby government that has brought down prices
(3) It's in a cold climate which generally has meant less inward migration over the last 50 years since migration has followed Air Conditioning

Because they're hypocritical f*cks

The same people who defend the war mongering capital class with their lives will be out here crying their eyes out when climate migration starts to hit & millions of refugees start rocking up, they're freaking out now & migration is the lowest it's been in years

I've been reading for a while that the Great Migration is kinda reversing itself, and my reaction was
a) "we really fucked up here in the midwest/north and God is judging us"
b) "oh no, your votes won't count there"
c) "oh no, climate change is gonna wreck those places"
turns out b) was fixable

Is there much difference between the Nationals and One Nation ?
Both opposed the Voice, don’t believe in climate change , seem to be opposed to migration ( unless it’s labour to be exploited ) and don’t like Unions and workers .
Canavan is anti abortion and both are aligned with Trump’s politics.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could sell British stuff to 450million people with no tariffs, no mounds of paperwork? Think of all the jobs for young people!

We could even work together on climate change, migration, AI safety & defence! We’d be unstoppable!

Let’s unite with our closest allies!

I will be following the negotiation tracks and developments regarding gender action, climate justice and the role of local and regional governments in climate action and climate adaptation. I will also be looking for links to games policy, games in climate action, disaster prevention, and migration.

I think we’re really starting to see just how genocidal the anti-migration people are going to be when the climate refugee crisis comes a in full swing. This is going to get, quite literally, exponentially worse and if this continues a how they’re responding now…

Namibia: Exploring the Nexus between Climate Change, Migration and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights–HIV in Southern Africa #Refugees
Namibia: Exploring the Nexus between Climate Change, Migration and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights–HIV in Southern Africa
Countries: Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, South Africa Source: International Organization for Migration Please refer to the attached file. Climate-related disasters, including droughts, floods and cyclones, have displaced millions in sub-Saharan Africa. Identified by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a climate hotspot, the region faces severe vulnerabilities due to increasingly frequent and intense extreme weather events. Migration, predominantly internal, serves as a key adaptation strategy to environmental and economic challenges. Concurrently, the region records some of the worst global outcomes in sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and HIV indicators. The study aimed to achieve the following: (a) deepen understanding of the links between climate change, migration and SRHR in Southern Africa, and provide guidance for the SRHR-HIV Knows No Borders (KNB) programme; (b) assess subnational health system readiness to address the SRHR-HIV needs of displaced populations using the Minimum Initial Service Package Readiness Assessment Tool; (c) identify capacity gaps among project teams and partners delivering SRHR-HIV interventions in crisis settings; (d) develop, with stakeholders, a problem tree and theory of change addressing the nexus between SRHR, migration and climate change, and integrate these into the KNB framework; (e) develop at least two case studies on climate impacts on SRHR and related mitigation measures; and (f) develop advocacy messages to improve the SRHR well-being of internally displaced persons, migrants, young vulnerable people and sex workers in Southern Africa.

Billionaires: the second you board your jet to escape to safe houses and bunkers because the climate crisis has triggered mass migration and social chaos, your safety is finished. So invest in the here and now: this is the only place to have the life you want of wealth and privilege.

Land restoration & preservation deliver mutually reinforcing benefits, for instance by increasing carbon storage or avoiding greenhouse gas emissions in global forests, wetlands, grasslands and croplands. These are cost-effective greenhouse gas mitigation activities that can support climate targets.

I think the “moderate” position here is that consolidation should include a lot of engagement and thorough discussion of the trade offs, as well as incorporate contingencies for if these trends reverse with climate migration, but that something does need to be done to stabilize PPS operations.

They wont be able to migrate fast enough into climate zones they can survive in. Trying to support tree migration is difficult too because it's very hard to forecast how the climate of a specific region will change. You'ld need to migrate entire ecosystems and hope they survive the next 100 years.
