This is hyper-local, but it looks like with half of the precincts reporting, Charlotte City Council District #6--a long time GOP-held district--finally flips to Democratic.

If this hold, the nationalization of Charlotte politics has finally reached this district.

This was the presidential results in 2024 in the various Charlotte city council districts:

Notice how 1-5 are super Democratic, but 6 & 7--the well-known "GOP pizza slice" of South CLT--were more Democratic.

If nationalization is happening, that could have translated tonight. #cltpol

For some context: the GOP Charlotte District 6 city council candidate in 2023 (the husband of this year's GOP candidate) won by 314 votes.

He left to join the Trump administration, with his wife securing the GOP nomination for this year's election.
