I very really did, and looking back at the review I see that my editing radar honed on many academic theses and dissertations has really focussed on section ordering and mild repetition, and I didn't even mention the characterful drawings, or how grateful I am that Clumbers are the calmest spaniels.

Thank you for sending this. Love it. Clumbers do live up to the "Dignified Clown" nick. Will gladly add this image to my reference collection. Please feel free to take a copy of the Clumber art I post. Pass along to your Clumber friends. Thank you.

Here is a new reference for your collection. Clumbers are so sweet so I forgive them for how messy they are

Great to hear from you Kirk. We had to send one of our Clumbers to a training "camp" for six weeks. Was hard for me to admit I was failing at the training. Was hard to be apart from her. She did come home a much better trained and overall happier dog. Many good years together after for all of us.

Than you Pedro. Me too. Maybe one day. You may already know this, Clumber Spaniel lore has it that Clumbers were first bred in France. Then they started showing up in England.

Turns out the handler was in court and banned once for cruelty to animals.

KC or the ROYAL KC as it's now known is a club built on abuse.

Those clumbers have to be cut out of their mothers as their heads are too big. Absolute joke.
#crufts best in show perfectly encapsulates what the Kennel Club breeding stands for.

A disgustingly overweight spaniel with inherited eye problems.

Don't buy into the KC.

Thank you Pedro for sending this. Congrats to Bruin. Clumbers are wonderful dogs. Loving and loyal. Thank you so much. Seeing this brightens my day.

Clumbers stink. Don’t know what it is about them, but they stink.

Yours Truly a former Dog Kennel owner.

Was too busy watching Call the Midwife so missed the final. Do love Clumbers, my brother used to have one .So glad a “proper” dog won !

It's the clumber while PGGV is reserve... interesting, would've preferred it the other way around. Just not a fan of showy clumbers and I see some people being kind of split even if they're usually clumber stans, but at least it's not the cav

Overall not my favoritest Crufts ever, but always fun!!

He is so beautiful I love him!!!! Clumbers have been on my radar for a while as the dog I'd have if I was going to get a dog!!!

I like the corgi but I really don't like the look of clumbers (sorry, I'm sure its a lovely pup)

Love clumbers. ❤️

Organisers' obsession with mountains makes the 3-week tours (ironically) a bit one-dimensional!
It's ALL about the top clumbers, with little room for sprinters, time-trialists, or breakaway artistes to shine.

There is a debate about the origins of Clumbers. Some believe that they are a mix of Alpine Spaniel and St. Bernard. Others believe they are a mix of Alpine Spaniel and Bassett Hound. All I know is that they are great dogs. We have a 18mo old Cavapoo now. Much easier to handle.

Hi Jack Thank you for your message. The image is of our late Clumber Spaniel, Samantha. Love Clumbers and Setters. They both are great companions.

Clumber Notes
It was a busy time last week as I was down at Birmingham National on Friday for the Clumbers and Sunday for our Tibetan Spaniels, so feeling it still today! Sunday, in particular, was a very long day as we had an Open Show and Special Classes after the main Tibetan Spaniel judging, but thereby hangs another story! Anyway, on to the Clumber judging. Chris Hill was awarding CCs in our breed for the first time and had 26 present. Dog CC and Best of breed was Caroline Reynold’s Ir Sh Ch Vanitonia Swashbuckler of Glenariff. This was his second CC here and hopefully his third will not be far off. Reserve CC went to his brother Vanitonia Something Extra owned by Adam Gardner and Dee Carter Hunt. In the girls, it was another CC for Sh Ch Tweedsmuir She’s so Sheek owned by Paul and Hilda Monaghan, with the Reserve CC going to Bebecova Uniquness owned by owned by Mr and Mrs Barrass and handled as usual by her breeder Ricky Furnell. Best Puppy went to Elskerwoo Silver Lining owned by Christine Sainsbury. Suelynda Let Me Be the One JW, owned by Jonathan and Claire Blackburn, had a good day winning the Vulnerable Native Breeds Stakes. Next up is SKC this week where Mr H Frykstand has drawn an entry of 6 dogs and 7 girls making an entry of 7 dogs and 7 bitches. He will be a girl short as I will not be there due to having a more pressing appointment. Clumbers are fourth in ring 9 after the Curly Coated Retrievers, Spanish Water Dogs and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. The Open Show for Clumbers is at 9am in Ring 11 with Mr T Johnston, who replaces our original judge Tania Gardner, with 4 dogs and 7 girls entered, so there will be quite a wait before the SKC judging takes place. Following on from this will be Bath on the Bank Holiday weekend, where Frank Kane has drawn an entry of 15 dogs and 15 girls. Clumbers are second in ring 20 after 24 Import Registered Breeds making 30 entries. Right now, I am off to do some gardening in the beautiful warm sunshine, all covered up and hat in place, of course. I will also be making plans for "running" in the Race For Life to raise funds for Cancer Research UK which as you will know, is something very important to me personally and in terms of family and friends. The race is on the 8th June 2025 and donations can be made at the following link: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/maureens-race-for-life-11203
