I was proud to carry the NUM Bold Colliery banner at the match on Saturday, for the Club, for me, and for my Uncle - Colin Stockley, a Bold miner, whose experiences during the 1984/5 strike made a big impression on me, and who died on 7 February. RIP Col. #StHelens #CoalNotDole
At Saturday’s derby match against Haydock the teams were led out behind Northwest Miners Heritage Association’s Bold Colliery banner. Carrying the banner is Town volunteer, supporter, all round legend, John Cole & Chair, Ste Lingard. John’s father was a Bold miner as was Ste’s uncle ⛏️ #ExTerraLucem

"as he was shooting, he spotted Lesley Boulton, a member of Women Against Pit Closures, helping an injured picket. She was shouting for an ambulance when a policeman turned round on his horse and charged, swinging a truncheon at her head." #Orgreave #CoalNotDole www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...
