now the grimoires in CofD don't usually help access spells you don't have the skills for but do have benefits in ritual casting. If you memorize them you have a new version of the spell that's easier to cast by adding your mundane skill dice.

Mechanically speaking; it's smoother, faster, and easier to pick up and put down than most of WoD was.
Narratively speaking; CofD also doesn't suffer from excessive lore baggage, since it's all optional and not intrinsic to the mechanics of the game.

I’m learning Mage the ascension and Mage the awakening and I can tell you my interest for both is high but I find it easier to get into something that has deep established lore. I’m one of those autists that need that kinda structure so my ST homebrewing their own thing in CofD is helping a lot.

basically using the campaign as an excuse to mash together a lot of the things I like about both WoD and CofD while giving myself a separate sandbox where I can mess with the setting without affecting the main campaign.

I'm seeing some people warm up to V6, good for them and something I already expected
My prediction to when V6 releases is that it will be a similar situation of V5, it will have its fans but others will stay in previous editions
Personally, I'm converting everything to CofD lol
