There's 1940s novel about Argentinian Polonia, Transatlantyk, where the protagonist is torn between his feelings for Fatherland (Polish tradition and patriotism) and Sonland (his buried queer feelings embodied by the beautiful Polish young man his gay Argentinian collague is plotting to woo).

An ex-collague worked in California. Used to take themselves off to an establishment on a Sunday morning to read the newspapers over a beer. Was summoned to the managers office one Monday morning after someone saw them and they were asked if "everything was OK at home".

My collague arrived at work yesterday in a full on winter puffer jacket. It's 15C here in the mornings but I still wouldn't wear a puffer in that kind of weather especially if it's 20C+ by 10am

Yep - Eid. Been v industrious this morning though - gym, wrote ten lines of 'Angel 9', wrote some plans for EAL which I've inherited (the teacher dun a runner), now I'm settling into a poem.
You know wot? This collague covered me in her perfume yesterday - all oudy and musky - I scent a poem...lol.

My best hallucinated reference detection story was when the first name of a collague was changed (e.g. Julius -> John) despite the paper title being real and correct. This happened probably because the LLM only saw the abbreviated citations on the Internet/training (e.g. J. Smith).

It's somehow less worse than Facebook, at least the ex-birdapp, the AI cat videos got replaced with collague meme cat videos, those doesn't seem made by AI.

You have no idea, how much it pleases me that this practically displaced thos stupid AI cat videos out of the ex-bird app. They're still dumb videos, but you can tell that the collague of actual cat meme videos is an improvement.

i saw a collague alone at lunch and asked if she wants us to sit with her or is she having her "alone time" and she almost cried?? bc lunch is indeed her alone time but noone has ever considered to ask before just joining her and she kept thanking me for asking and accepting the answer
