Today’s word was #tarot for #colorsofinktober, along with a set of extremely desaturated blues.

It made me think of moonlight and the tarot reminded me of #TheMidnightCircus, so here’s the closest I’ve gotten to fan art in an age. 😁 Sketchy due to being a mom. 😂

A migraine tonight so this isn’t quite where I want it for #colorsofinktober. But I’m proud as punch over the linework, and I learned some great brushes that are gonna help me tons with my #birdpaintings in Procreate. 🪶

Tonight’s prompt for #colorsofinktober was “candy” and an indigo blue, and at first I was pretty stumped.

Retreated to my #cottagecore witchy vibes and inspiration finally struck. Garden candy. 🤤🌱

I have had this insane urge to use a proper copper still in a piece about magic for ages, and tonight I finally pulled out all my reference and did the thing- because today’s color for #colorsofinktober is a wonderful orange.

I think this could still use one more pass for light, but not today. ☺️

Ok, I lied.

I wasn’t going to do tonight’s prompt for #colorsofinktober. I am TIRED. There was a lot today and I feel kinda old tonight.

Then I sat down- I’d at least sketch my idea down to finish another time and heeeere we are 40 min of hyperfocus later. 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Probably not going to manage #colorsofinktober today, and that’s okay. I had a lot of chores, and I’m really wiped.

For me these challenges are mostly mini sprints in a direction, anyway… starting points. Rough pieces I’m hoping to eventually polish.

Today is “Candle” and a nice gold. I worked on a gray ground and also used black and white “inks”.

Excited as I think this challenge is going to give me a really nice themed set of drawings. ☺️

I’ve decided to go with a fantasy magic feel. Colors reminded me of tea washes.

(Yes, for the super geeky, I did check the planetary positions for today’s date. 😁🔭🐡)
