These gorgeous painted cards from the 80s and 90s are preserved in the archive of political journalist Chris Moncrieff. The watercolours are by Yorkshire artists Ashley Jackson and Les Packham. [Reference code: MRCF 2/4]

These tinted slides show Russia at a time of revolutions and civil war

Produced in the USA by the Victor Animatograph Company, they were used for Henry Sara's UK lantern lecture tours

Here are some beautifully #ColourfulArchives from the Edmund Potter and Company collection. The firm was based in Glossop and produced wonderfully colourful fabrics during the 19th and 20th centuries. Edmund was also grandfather to author Beatrix Potter.

This lovely colour-coded map shows the Surgeon's districts of Glasgow, c.1831. The surgeon assigned to each district was responsible for visiting the poor for free.

Archives aren't always black & white; sometimes they're full of vibrant colours, like this watercolour painting of the stained glass window by Louise Cecilia Bazalgette Lucas Stratton in 1897. The window was made for Lucas Hospital, Wokingham in 1655
