There was never a cohesive push to digital like there was for basically everything else. Comixology got real close at a certain point, and even at their peak wanted to coexist with comic shops

Some funnybooks collections I’ll be ogling in the next couple of weeks…

Comixology/Kindle sales brought me the first three books.

I never got to the Wally Wood AE in late October, as I anticipated. It’s so large, it can be a challenge to find a time and space to dig in. But I’m going to try again.

When you look on Comixology Sales right now, you get a single bracket marked KODANSHA SCARY SALE. There are no comics, at all, in it. But if you want a kindle copy of ACOTAR, a Richard Osman novel or Reacher Book 31 boy do they have you covered.

In other news, these folks are GREAT

In case you were wondering how automating Comixology (UK) was going. It’s been like this for a week? None of these are comics, let along Kodasha.

If you click the Show More link, you get a completely unrelated search.

AI, I presume, is cooking the big companies.

Thanks but I have no interest in self publishing, and i couldn’t even do that right now based on the Comixology agreement. Maybe one day.

Instead of platforms like Webtoon, Comixology & its successors, social media sites, all that stuff that people have been using for online comics, we really should’ve taken the path that podcasts did.

"Kim-Joy’s writing feels as personal and expressive as the colorful desserts you may have seen her bake... Her new graphic novel Quiet was released digitally last month through Comixology Originals, and will be available in print from Mad Cave next summer." More at ComicsBeat: https://bit.ly/47tjsNO

So far I’ve mostly gotten through the Fantagraphics collections that they included with Comixology Unlimited but I’ve reached the end of that supply

I’m an omnivore when it comes to reading, but I tend to buy books more from Kobo, Apple, etc. Kickstarter became important for comics when Amazon slowly strangled Comixology… though it’s not a perfect solution, either. They are quite censorious!
