The appeal of GOG 15 years ago was that old games worked right out the box. But compatability rot over the years meant that many games I'd purchase now needed further work to get functioning. Good to see them committed to fixing this.

This is a fascinating listen. The thing that resonates most strongly is the idea of backward compatability. I actually think if you want a successful new edition, you should want to break compatability, at least to some extent. Anything else is always going to limit your sales.
As someone who worked at Wizards while this shit was happening I recommend checking out this long, detailed analysis from Ronald and the people he includes in his analysis.
Obviously, the more interested in #ttrpg you are as a player or a creator - not just #dnd - the more interesting this is.
