Helpful reminder that just because Disney markets Mufasa as a film "blending live-action filmmaking techniques with photoreal computer-generated imagery," no one else needs to buy into that bullshit.
It's a computer-animated sequel no one needed to a computer-animated remake no one needed.

The dead have a right to remain dead. An animated skin put over a computer model and given the same name as the dead son of grieving parents is a cursed golem and a full delusion. By interviewing the computer model, Acosta has asked us to accept this as true or real. Gun control deserves better.

people who say that all creative endeavor can be replaced with AI probably need to reckon with the fact that all televised sports events with human athletes could easily be replicated by high-definition computer-animated simulations….and yet we don’t do this and no one seems to want to.

I keep rewatching this GIF b/c I'm blown away by how solid the chair and doors move for something drawn without computer aid. I can't recall if Disney ever animated anything this solidly until they started using computer wireframes for ref in shots in Great Mouse Detective, Little Mermaid, & Beauty.
