Commission explores bylaw change to give building inspector pause on permits pending ConCom review
Members discussed an interim workflow and a proposed bylaw amendment to let the building inspector delay issuing permits (or define a 'complete' application) until conservation commission or historic commission approvals are accounted for, aiming to prevent post-permit wetlands violations.

Sincere thanks to @mariebilodeau.bsky.social, @brandoncrilly.bsky.social, and the entire concom for another wonderful #CanCon.

We have a brand new logo for Constellation Comics! With a Y2K and sci-fi aesthetic, this new design reflects the visual direction Constellation Comics is headed towards a young and hopeful comics studio. It’s fresh, it’s fun, and it’s us💫!

The Exeter Select Board has put the brakes on a proposed sewer route for a new subdivision after community concerns about wetland impacts and maintenance obligations took center stage.

Get the details!

Select Board delays decision on Exeter Country Club sewer route after abutters and Conservation Commission raise wetlands, maintenance and easement questions
Developers asked to use town-owned Lot 8 for a gravity sewer main to serve a 14-lot subdivision; the Conservation Commission and abutters asked for more information about wetland impacts, alternatives (pump station), easement terms and maintenance, and the board scheduled a joint review with ConCom and DPW on Nov. 9.

Q. Do Dorkirs have a similar layout to the ConCom?

A. Umm.

Q. Okay why was Angel in the boarding party?

A. Seeing this in the script bothered Peter Telep so much that he pre-emptively came up with a backstory in the novelization about how she had previously trained aboard a captured Dorkir which had a similar layout to the ConCom.

Another option is that the concordia really doesn't have an actual contingent of dedicated marines there just to board other ships... which would also be why they needed to attack the concom with the Dilligent instead of the Claw's own Marine LC

I know! I feel so bad for her.

Folks were unstinting in telling the concom wth and wtf. A lovely historic hotel, great; for those what cannot walk? Terrible!
October 9, 2026 at 7:50 AM
Lovely thought, but what might be more effective is to make it a requirement that bids include an external assessment of accessibility provided by a professional, and not a hotel rep or concom. If they can afford a flight to host a bid party, they can pay a consultant.

First concom meeting for the 2027 CONvergence cycle and it was long, but oddly productive.

Trying my darndest to set up the volunteer/concom interest survey, but technology keeps foiling me.

I’ll stick a pin in this, for now, and go back to it when I’m on an actual computer and not a tablet…

My most poignant 9/11 memory is from after. The LISA conference always filled its speaking track more than 6 months before it actually ran, but the November 2001 concom got hold of the senior systems administrator for CNN, to talk about what it was like, running a major news website that day. 1/

Apparently that was an automatic response. She did get a message from concom later on, with an apology and a promise of a public statement to come.
