Just returned from two weeks of archaeological excavation on an uninhabited island in Brittany for @univbrest.bsky.social summer archaeological field school.

Shell midden archaeology at its finest : bones, shells, shards and friends 💥

#PaleoSky 🏺 🦑
The excavation area: after five years of research, we have digged through modern, medieval and Bronze Age periods, all interbedded in sand dune, and we are now reaching the Bell Beaker level. Overview of a shell-rich area : stone tools, fauna remnants… Maybe linked to a post hole filled with paleo-trash ? A pile of limpet shells, directly from the sand : are these structure resulting from natural processes in the midden or are they intentionally deposited this way ? Conguel-style ceramic shard, nicely decorated

📑: omegaverse, magic au, royalty, fantasy, pseudo-incest (unrelated cousins), slow burn, eventual romance in series

A white background with blue watercolor shapes and splatters across the top. Across the bottom is a watercolor mountain landscape with several dragons flying above the mountains. In the top left, text reads "book 1 of 4." Across the center, text reads "howling dragons reappear." In the bottom left corner, text reads "a Dear Evan Hansen fic by theomegapoint." Summary: It's Elias Week, a celebration of Ellison's founder Elias and his contributions to the Twelve Kingdoms. For Evan, it's a chance to get outside the castle walls. For Connor and Miguel, it's a chance to experience the culture of Ellison and maybe see if it's somewhere they'd like to make a home.

Summary: The first week of school is the most difficult, but Connor's made it through. His reward is a study session with Evan, who is eager to make friends but maybe not the best Mànund teacher. Evan shows Connor some magic and, in return, Connor sculpts something for Evan. Everything seems picture-perfect. Surely that can't last.

Summary: Attending school in Ellison means attending classes in various subjects, from math to magic. These are designed to give students a well-rounded education and provide them with a foundation to build the rest of their life on. To be placed at the correct level of magical instruction, however, students must first take a magical assessment. What could go wrong?
