Yup, this isn’t 2016 where you had major furry cons having like 2000 people. Those days are largely over unless you are at one of the smaller conventions. At some point mid size cons like Furpocalypse may have to grab the big venues in Hartford where Connecticon is held for example

ConnectiCon 2026: More than a Two-Hour Schlep
So, I can tell you that it has been 18 years since my last ConnectiCon. When I was there before, I was a vendor slinging t-shirts, and Robert Picardo from Star Trek: Voyager walked past me, and I was legit starstruck. I don’t remember if I had gotten any photos, but the free time I did get after working my shift, I enjoyed it for what it was.

Who even bothers with masks in 2026 lol, connecticon ended that ridiculous requirement in 2023 and it was a breath of fresh air. I still remember the cheers when the airline captain said the mask requirement was over and everyone celebrated mid flight

Like idk me and bloomf were just goofing around yelling "hachimi", running. It was awesome because nobody was there. No judgement. Just silliness.

I bought a Grim Fandango off an artist at Connecticon partially because it was a good print and partially because it was the first Grim Fandango art I'd ever seen in the wild. That deserves a sale by itself as far as I'm concerned!

Case in point, this is me doing a #latex Darth Vader #cosplay at Connecticon 2023. Everyone loved it. No problems. I feel like furry conventions are behind the curve on this one. Latex is not inherently sexual. It absolutely can be, but so can lots of other types of clothing.

Connecticon is STILL doing the $150 application fee. Yes they are doing some good things but the main issue is that the app fee IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

In ConnectiCon news, the convention released their final version of their vendor application process and tl;dr they announced a number of initiatives in order to appease the public, but still insist for the third time in a row to keep the $150 application fee. It's pure intransigence.
