The NAACP had excellent lawyers in the 1950s/60s; making it possible to use existing US-Federal Laws to evolve black civil rights in unison with civil rights protests. Constance Motley was the first British Caribbean-American federal judge & first female black lawyer to argue a case before SCOTUS.
