Just attended a lovely talk where a product went from 6.6 seconds to 0.8 seconds for first contentful paint by ditching MUI and CSS-in-JS and using vanilla CSS with in-house components instead. #webexpo

From Chrome 145 (on general release next week!), DevTools we will start to show so called "soft" navigations and "Soft LCP" in the Performance Panel traces.
These are for SPAs which don't do a full page load, but instead "fake it" by updating the current page and pushing a new history entry.

thinking about how the landing page for @conjured.ink is just 10kb of html+css plus a 20kb logo that could be made smaller (there's also a bunch of images on the bottom that get loaded eventually but are non-essential, so I'm not counting those).

it's also worth noting that the reason this (you know, probably) happens is that they have no intrinsic motivation so when you set two of them at each other without explicit topic-setting they quickly run out of anything contentful to babble about
