It's taken SO LONG but I finally have enough done that I can make a little Wikipedia-style image highlighting the location of one of the main nations in my conworld on a globe!

I know that I'm starting to get more of my drive for my own, original ideas back because I've started playing around with a new conworld map in CSP. So, we'll see how that plays out.

Honestly, people don't want to hear this, but that's intrinsic to the fact that the genre is basically "fantasy too cowardly to create a conworld"

What I like doing is using the name Common to mean something like Romance - it's contrasted with ancient languages used in scripture or sometimes magic. But different nations have different languages, which each calls Common; one conworld has Maritime Common, Littoral Common, and Riparian Common.

Hi, @wizenthorne.bsky.social. This is called a constructed world, or "conworld" for short. This particular one is a bit more like a cross between Wodehouse and Lovecraft than say Tolkien or C S Lewis, but in any case it only works if you stop taking yourself too seriously.
