So the corms are basically paying rent now, and the gardeners are just their accidental landlords.

Argh, my idiot gardeners ripped out all my ipheion AGAIN.

Contacted the boss, and he'll credit me for the $85 I had to spend to get 500 corms to fill in the borders again. But it's the TIME. They need 3-4 years to establish.

I work from home. All I ask is they ASK ME before ripping shit out!

"The Elephant’s Ears had been like velvet against my legs.
“I loved those plants,” I said.
“Well, they weren’t edible yams,” he says.

Appa has removed them by the corms. They look like severed trunks.
“Anyway, it is done now.”"

Coastal Californian, so mine are also doing that right now, and are on time? I can't remember the weather patterns out your way, didn't you have a dry summer and finally got moisture just recently? (this is a guess as to the corms getting wet and suddenly deciding that it was bloomin' season)

What could you cross off next spring’s garden shopping list this weekend? An overgrown clump, a dry seedhead or a tender pot might be all you need. Five autumn jobs for a cheaper spring.

I had a nice day out in the garden, digging up corms, tubers and bulbs. A couple pretty things survived the freezing nights we’ve been having. #bloomscrolling #gardening #photography

A way to look at the wheel of the year (I don't mean that wiccan wheel) is to ask: what is the soil doing? Saturn rules the earliest spring flowers who push their way up from corms and bulbs when the soil is cold hard iron. & at this time we harvest what we grew in the summer & sow for the spring,

These things are prolific, I got a ton of corms from digging them up 🌱

I also still have some babies I sprouted from corms this spring, looks like 5 here. I managed to give the rest away to friends. Maybe I should post these on the neighborhood message board 🤔 🌱

If he does die then he probably does at least have a few corms. He’s quite big with a sturdy crown, and in alocasias like that, there generally are corms. Obviously fingers crossed he makes it though

I thought I'd get away with just repotting the smaller newer corms but uh. We're gonna need a bigger boat.

planted crocus sativus corms at least 10 years ago, they never did anything except put grass-like green leaves out for about 2 years. I forgot all about them until I was planting stuff last year and found the corms ,which I relocated as they were still firm, must've missed one

I LOVE CANDY CORMS! Inflatable and edible!
October 13, 2026 at 5:46 PM
I mean, not like places like that are gonna grow those corms out anyway LOL, really it’s a shame to just leave them there! I would do the same if my city had alocasias anywhere,,,
