Corrie Haffly on Instagram: "Messy #corriesketchnotes from @bronleatweets / @bronwyn_lea’s brilliant sermon yesterday! Unsurprisingly full of wordplay (the Adam’s family 😂😂😂) and one line zingers (“Jesus has not countered sin and death, but he has conquered sin and death), I found her sermon full of substance as well. I appreciated that she called out our Western individualist tendency to chafe against being put into boxes (or 👶 in corners), addressed the theological tension of “is it our individual sin or Adam’s sin” (short answer: yes; analogy: Adam was the first domino), and helped me to soak in the REAL hope that Jesus gives us in this super messy world. (Thanks to online church you can watch her at @fbcdavis’ Facebook or YouTube pages!)"

Maybe he’s not @craiggroeschel or iammiketodd, but @alberttate is a hilarious, inspiring, and authentic voice at #gls20. “Jesus flipped tables (systems of injustice) but he didn’t flip people.” #corriesketchnotes

Such a personal, heart-felt, and inspirational talk from @paulafaris at #gls20 about leading yourself through life’s reset button (whether you pushed it or not) so that you can lead others. #corriesketchnotes

Powerful way to end today! @bishopjakes called us to step away from our personal boxes of “truth” to sit in someone else’s worldview and perspective at #gls20 #corriesketchnotes

So much practical info on getting to the sweet spot between warmth and confidence when making first impressions from @vvanedwards at #gls20 - and the Q and A showed how HILARIOUS she is unscripted too!…

Vulnerable and challenging interview with @bethcomstock. Might need to start asking close friends and colleagues “tell me one thing I don’t want to hear.” #gls20 #corriesketchnotes

My usual routine is to review my @glnsummit notes and consolidate them on additional #corriesketchnotes pages.

#corriesketchnotes from @lizditter’s talks at the women’s retreat this weekend

instagram.com/p/CbDugpIPEo6/…
Corrie Haffly on Instagram: "The @fbcdavis women’s retreat was a rich time! I loved @lizditty’s talks and put together my personal highlights that only touch on parts of the content and stories and insights she shared. I’m looking forward to reading her book #GodsManyVoices to refresh my memory and go even deeper! If I were forced to pick only one thing to take away, I would choose the idea of “the boring parts count.” You might have one “good conversation” in four dozen mornings of smiling at your kids when they are having breakfast - but if you skipped those 47 other mornings, what kind of relationship would you have with them? Similarly, my daily morning devotional times may not yield amazing insights every day, but the faithful act of showing up is just one more tap on that rock (or geode, to use Liz’s forgotten-on-the-nightstand visual). Beyond that encouragement, Liz gave me some real hope for some hard situations through her sharing her own stories and that of her close friends. Life can be so, so hard - and in what seems like impossible situations, when rock bottom drops out under you yet again, I believe in the ultimate justice and making-right of the new heavens and new earth but I don’t feel like I can count on anything in the present. Liz encouraged me to have audacious hope anyway — to ask anyway, to knock anyway, and to believe anyway that I WILL see the goodness of God in the land of the living. #corriesketchnotes #calligraphybycorrie"
