My mom drove a corvaire too.

it was so low to the ground that it caught the 57 Chevy headlights straight on.
It was blinding.
And a wild ride.

I owned a '64 Corvaire for awhile and one day the clutch cable broke on my way to work. Was able to limp in speed shifting. At lunch I was able to connect the parking brake cable to the clutch linkage and could drive around with a pistol grip clutch to get into 1st until I got a new cable delivered.
