AI proponents cling to the idea that the tech is going to enable boundless creativity, but I've seen what it enables; endless spam. It's enabled people without a single ounce of creativity in their bodies to make endless Balatro clones, genuinely no thoughts of their except Balatro but slop.

I think this is the clearest distillation of what the joy of creativity is.
the idea phase is the easiest and least valuable part of professional creativity.

Great art is made in the grinding, often miserable collision between the ethereal substance of an idea and the mud and blood and friction of reality

You want genuine expressions of human creativity?

Please explain how a formulaic Call of Duty game is more a genuine expression of human creativity than someone making passion projects

ai does the opposite, actually. ai and its purveyors seek to extract, claim ownership of, and control intellectual property. they wish to intrude upon all creativity, they want a world where we can't imagine being creative without it.

do not let them.

creativity does not need democratizing.
