each dawn another, each wave,
every cricketsong,
just the world trying
to synch with your heart

a handful of broken fingers with nothing to show for them?
some elusive memory of a dead dog yr not sure you remember the name of?
an echo of cricketsong?
what now is then?

Wind rustling through a canopy of tree leaves, the distant sound of birdsong in the forest, a dying fire and cricketsong on an autumn evening, the rhythmic sound of a knife chopping vegetables on a cutting board, the immediate sizzle of ingredients hitting hot oil in a well-seasoned pan.
what sound do you associate with your oc? doesn’t have to be a sound they make, just a sound that feels like Them.

the cricketsong drifts through the window, gentle waves of sound, and i can hear the train in the distance.
tomorrow will be spent in the city, guiding people to the books they don't know that they need.
this must be enough, for now.

loveletters made of skinned knees
and dialtones,
cricketsong and the gentle
tapping of pebbles
skipping down the sidewalk,
our barefeet
scuffed and stained
longing for the soft grass to come.
