crocodad!luffy is different at 19 cause he realized his dad is just awful but is still far too sheltered & codependent to do much about it so he ends up super cranky, plus chronic pain is taking a toll on him.

The Grand Design of Rise and Burn. Longfic, 376k. Crocodad fic, Dragon-ship through the first eight chapters and well... then it does transform into DofuWani. Still, my first Dragodile smut and ship writing's there.

"Yes, Wani." dances really close to Iva-help, with Dragodile actually having conversations about the change. 'n then of course 15y3m5d as the sole M/M one. I think after writing the 376k Crocodad longfic I just wanted them to have happy little stories on the side, 'cause gods, the rage and angst.

I didn't remember this beforehand (I just thought Crocodad was a canon fact) but rereading my old journals chronicling my last brush with One Piece in 09-11, I was aware of Crocodad and was shipping Dofuwani. The theory was definitely around in English speaking regions by 2010.

Yah, I think Crocodad theory must have been born around Marineford as well, but it's sort of... Luffy-focused thing, or Croc's-personality-and-identity-focused thing and 'oh yeah, that means Dragon!' 👀 was like an afterthought to many, I'm guessing. So the shipping style stuff was slower to form.

That Crocodad means Crocodile hooked up with that guy from Logue Town never quite reached my mind back then. Doffy was super entertaining, so I would have picked him over Dragon anyway. Now I am wiser :P (But Doffy is perched in my mind, always ready to remind me that he wants to be involved.)

Croc's 'defending Luffy against insane level enemies' in Marineford is weird af and to this day I struggle to find a canon reason if/when trying to write a non-Crocodad Crocodile through Marineford. So surely it started then, too?

Obviously there must have been rare pair shippers for all the ships before the big 'oh now (almost) everyone sees the light' moments, but still. 'n as for Dragodile... trans-Croc must have hit the fandom in Impel Down, obviously. I wonder if Crocodad theory hit soon after? Same time?

Pregnancy is not an automatic must-read. Yes, I'm aware I've written a longfic with Crocodad. 'n another that's full on (don't try this at home) parenting. I think I enjoy writing the psychological change more than the physiological experience. I like raising individuals more than pregnancy.

Not that Croc got to raise anything in the Grand Design, what with the Straw Hat canon staying intact, but the Djinn's Daughter and Rocks raising and teaching little Wani and later Hawk? I had genuine fun there. Obviously I read plenty of pregnancy fics 'cause of Crocodad and-

You should write the fic! Fanfics are a conversation with lengthy chat turns, like 'have you thought about this idea/angle?' and 'this is how I envision it going, what do you think?' My first OP-fanfics were about Crocodad with the premise of Croc wanting to keep the baby and Dragon stealing him.

There‘s a popular theory that Crocodile is Luffy‘s birth parent (called Crocomom or Crocodad theory), which builds upon the idea that the secret Iva holds over Crocodile is that Crocodile used to be a woman and got turned by Iva‘s hormone fruit powers!
