FOX BUSINESS: “My goodness. $5 BILLION. Eye-popping numbers… crypto-friendly legislation coming from the president who is in turn cashing in on crypto. A conflict of interest.”

Even Fox sees how insanely corrupt Trump’s crypto grift is. (H/T @ab21.bsky.social )

I know political memories are short, but damn! In July, Schiff joined Republicans to pass the industry-friendly crypto bill that allowed Trump to take in more crypto bribes.
While Americans are struggling with higher prices, the President is focused on enriching himself and his family.

You look at this and have to ask yourself – is there any level of corruption so egregious that Republicans would call it out?

Evidently not.

Unbelievable. With Dem support, the senate passes an industry-friendly crypto bill that does nothing about Trump's crypto corruption.

Ignore these Dems' speeches. Watch their votes. They're telling you they don't get it. And then they spam you to say Trump is bad so please donate more money.
Update: I'm hearing the senate vote on this stupid crypto bill could come tonight.

This week should be about the despicable GOP reconciliation bill. The few Dems on this crypto bill aren't just wrong on policy, they're fracturing the party at a time we should be unified against GOP corruption.
Bad news. Word is the crypto bill is coming back. Some senate Dems - Warner, Gallego, & Gillibrand among others - are teaming up with the GOP to overcome the filibuster. Here's Gallego last week saying they won't try to stop Trump's crypto bribes because Republicans oppose that provision. Pathetic.

Trump's family crypto business is expected to soon be allowed to operate like a bank — a decision, made by the Trump administration, that would give U.S. companies a new route to steer money to the president.

Most Dems voted against this, including Kim & Warnock who bravely broke with Dem senators from their home states. But shame on the 16 Senate Dems who sided with Trump on this industry-friendly crypto bill. I am just exhausted at this Party's willful incompetence. www.huffpost.com/entry/senate...

Working with oligarchs to pass an industry-friendly crypto bill while an authoritarian president takes crypto bribes isn't "smart moderation." It poisons the Dem political brand. This kind of shit is why congressional Dems have a 21% approval rating.

New: Trump’s family crypto business expected to soon be allowed to operate like a bank

Decision will be made by Trump-appointed regulation

Charter approval would allow US companies to complete transactions - like Venmo - on Trump platform, with cut for the firm

Senate Democrats unified in opposition to block the crypto-friendly bill that would have enabled Trump’s corruption. We were worried about losing some Democrats on this vote, so thank you for speaking up over the last day. Your calls definitely made a difference.

Crypto-friendly legislation They can probably expect a 10x ROI at least

Back in February, I asked a Trump nominee about this EXACT possibility & he dodged my questions.

Just as I said back then, this whole process is corrupt to its core. Trump's admin is effectively trying to boost his own family's tainted crypto company.

Unprecedented corruption.

Kirsten Gillibrand and Angela Alsobrooks lead the crypto-friendly Ds. The leaders of the crypto skeptics demanding Trump prohibitions are Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley. Key votes include several Democrats who got $10M each in crypto campaign air support last year.

The crypto lobby has spent $129 million to elect industry-friendly candidates over the last three election cycles.

Crypto is now one of the largest campaign contributors since Citizens United — second to Big Oil.

Last night, 16 Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to advance a crypto-friendly bill that will enable Trump’s corruption.

Instead of standing up to Trump, these 16 Democrats decided they’d rather do a big favor for the crypto industry and legitimize an avenue for Trump to collect bribes.

Since autocorrect screwed me, let’s try again…

ICYMI: time’s drawing short for Senate Dems (or at least 41 of them) to draw a bright red line: no crypto-friendly regulation until Trump fully divests from his bribery vehicles.
New: Democrats should take every viable opportunity to check or increase the salience of Trump’s corruption, and they definitely shouldn’t bypass opportunities by reasoning that reining in corruption means “shrinking the tent.” www.offmessage.net/p/dont-build...
