My recollection is that CTCA had ads that focused on helping when your regular doctor was unable to do more, so after the usual standard of care had been tried. There was an FTC complaint against them. Sad for the family, but there are indications any insurer or Medicare would have done the same.

If we want a smarter, greener, & more cost-effective healthcare system, we need to align reimbursement models with evidence-based practice. More CTCA & MRI where it makes sense, less reliance on expensive nuclear studies just because they’re easier to access. 🌱 💰
