Fun thing about the tainted cup series is that despite being ostensibly fantasy it’s intensely modern/contemporary in terms of what it deals with and concerns, but not in the trite THE REAL MONSTER IS CAPITALISM way you sometimes see. Anyway the latest one is good, recommend.

There is an anthology called ELDRITCH CHROME, but I'd really like to see a book that was more like MIRRORSHADES but for the Mythos. “Star Bright, Star Byte” by Marella Sands, "A Colder War" by Charles Stross, "The Unthinkable" by Bruce Sterling, etc.

Just finished the latest pod from @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social and while I never ran OG #Cyberpunk 2020 I nicked loads from its source books for our long-running Shadowrun campaign. From there we built a Martian PBM around GURPS and CthulhuPunk and at some point I *must* run some Cy_Borg.

Just finished the latest pod from @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social and while I never ran OG #Cyberpunk 2020 I nicked loads from its source books for our long-running Shadowrun campaign. From there we built a Martian PBM around GURPS and CthulhuPunk and at some point I *must* run some Cy_Borg.
An interesting corner of the Cthulhu Mythos universe is... Cthulhupunk! There are way more of these RPGs than you think, and Bobby Derie @deepcuts.blog covers them all in Bayt al Azif issue 6!

Whenever CthulhuTech is mentioned, and really my familiarity with the game is limited to the artwork, I always confuse it with GURPS Cthulhupunk*. Anyway, TIL Cthulhupunk is the only GURPS title containing the word "Cthulhu" in the title. That surprised me.

Oh, it has to be Dr Bao Lee, I keep putting him in everything. He's so deliciously unhinged and evil and unaware of his insanity. He's in Fat Monster and Metal and his cloned children are in my new Monsters & Metal Cthulhupunk series. #horrorwriterschat

Not a piece of proper fiction (outside of some vignettes), but there is a whole GURPS sourcebook about that! GURPS CthulhuPunk, licensed combination of Mythos stuff with the GURPS Cyberworld setting. Pretty good tbh (though many of the rules feel silly due to being old 3e stuff)

GURPS CthulhuPunk was such a great concept, and fusion of genres. I loved running it, and I used it for inspiration for so many other games as well.

When I was running Cthulhupunk, a new player joined. The others recruited him for a job, but after explaining the plan, he decided he was not interested, did not trust their plan, did not offer an alternative. They could not persuade him.
So they killed him.

AFAIK, CthulhuPunk is one of the few GURPS books to not have a pdf because of that license.
