Brilliant to find this 1st Winter Grey Phalarope off Maryport Golf Course yesterday whilst ringing with the West Cumbria Ringing Group under the @btobirds.bsky.social ringing scheme. It showed well whilst feeding in the waves around high tide.

Buttermere full of birds yesterday, including tonnes of Pied Flycatchers checking out nest sites and Dippers along the streams. Also Hawfinch, Redstarts, Osprey, and Wood Warbler. #UKBirding #CumbriaBirding ##LakeDistrict

From Aira Force on the 06.10.25, no luck with Dipper’s, but I did find 3 Goosander on a couple of calmer sections of the cascades.

Beautiful dawn visit to my local patch, Park End Moss NT, no Chiffchaff, but plenty to look at. 2 Cettis wbr, loads of Grey heron eating the frogs, and 4 flocks of Pinks high north. #cumbriabirding #cumbriabirds
