Copper is named after Cyprus, which was the ancient Greeks’ primary source for it and is easier to see when comparing the island’s original Greek name (Kupros) with copper as it appears in alloys (eg cupro-nickel).

Just checked my portfolio and seems I’m long cupro-nickel and nickel-plated steel, so I’m obviously bullish on nickel prices. Not doing badly this year TBF.

Ok now I can see how bluesky deals with tall image thumbnails 😅 anyway, I actually stuck to my word and started to make some trousers for my dress up game! These are very WIP. These are loosely based on the Beyond Nine cupro trousers I'd love to buy!

I made a really freakin' cute clutch for a wedding I went to last month.
Outer fabric is sandwashed cupro. Lining + binding is linen leftover from last summer's sewing. I quilted them together with flex foam between before cutting out the pieces. I added a small wrist strap to the back.

One of the gods things I noticed about this jacket is that the sleeves are slightly cropped given how oversized/relaxed of a fit the jacket is. This feels like an intentional fit in order to show off this watch. He’s literally walking to make sure it’s seen!

probably the most sustainable rayon is Tencel/Lyocell (different names for the same product) - made from sustainably farmed eucalyptus trees, with a chemical process that recycles most of the chemicals. Cupro might also be okay?
