The surfactant employed was made by this group through lipid extraction & modification of whole calf lung extract, & eventually became Survanta. (In the same era, Tore Curstedt & Bengt Robertson @karolinskainst developed the porcine product that would be Curosurf (“Curstedt-Robertson surfactant”).
