I think you would find that the punishment is set up to fit the criminal. I suspect if the rapist was a black or brown dude he'd get lynched. If he's a white rich collage student he has to write an essay, probably not even in cursive.

tbh when I read that cursive font I thought it said 'Riwali' and feel a bit bone-headed for needing to look up what Diwali was to begin with

my handwriting is arguably brag-worthy, but i usually prefer to print rather than writing in cursive. a lot of the time when i'm taking notes i want them to be legible to unknown other readers if needed. especially if i'm writing about something scientific or religious
