I'm taking an alternative processes photography class and I've become pretty proficient in making cyanotypes and I'm about to start learning how to layer and change the color. My plan is to make some that look like two strip technicolor films #tcmparty

Welp, that's way too many prints lying about.
I've been hoarding them for too long, now time to release some into the wild.

Handmade darkroom prints, fiber paper, framed. Some cyanotypes as well. Cheap.

If you'd fancy one, get in touch!

Bon par contre je vais pas voir la lumière du jour demain. Je prendrais ma dose d'uv en même temps que j'exposerai mes cyanotypes.

I've added wax to cyanotypes, to give them that sheen and protect them a little if they are going to be displayed without glass. Beeswax (here experimentally in the form of a boot waterproofing cream) gives a sepia effect which adds something to the toning (in this case red wine). Muck about I say.

Thanks, Matt!
I'm still really new to cyanotypes.
Yeah, it's a struggle. I did 4, 5, 6 prints after an exposure test doing 10 second increments.

I was sooo stoked when this one worked out.
I'm also battling my printer, which is really the main reason why I may go insane in the future.

#scribesandmakers <27 Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
Oh yes! Sometimes I don’t know what they’ll be for when I collect them. Sometimes I do. I used plants to make cyanotypes and embroidered with bits of tree bark in my fabric meditation books, for example […]

The #Burning of Autumn. A single match can destroy an entire #forest—and in #MehrdadFathi’s haunting #cyanotypes, the humble #matchbox becomes a vessel for remembering what we stand to lose.

Cyanotypes
Evolving and iterating the process and toolset that we use to create our Cyanotypes as well as refining core imagery that works well with this process. Looking at the process, it works exceedingly well with natural subjects but we wanted to see how it might handle some harder designs, like automative subjects. As we work through the process we are also working through our toolset on what chemistry, substrate, and exposure times are most appropriate.
