It's weird how the federal government is constantly being hacked after DOGE gutted the government's cybersecurity agencies.
The Pentagon is notifying millions of current and former U.S. military servicemembers and staff that hackers stole their *unencrypted* personal information during a months-long data breach. The agency that had the breach also handles ID and login/credential access to U.S. military systems and bases.

The latest update in the rogue A.I. saga: OpenAI agents that were supposed to be performing mundane data requests for things like health data, historic photos and wait times at theme parks resorted to hacking attempts when they couldn't access the data they wanted www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/t...

20XX-era cybersecurity praxis is so goofy
zero percent of the time otherwise but it works really well for talking them past cybersecurity blocks, the idea is to talk to them like someone who's taken too much acid and is freaking out about nothing so they get a bit embarrassed and continue.

This sounds dumb as hell but it works reliably!
