My parents didn’t know I was reading problematic stuff in fanfiction at all and I still don’t talk about it to them. However, I’m glad I did in ye olde Darkfic days because then I got to explore my limits in fiction.

absolutely zero shade to those who do like other post canon or who don't like post canon at all, ofc. i'm just very specific w my jayvik. another example is i can't stand "commune" (cult!) aus with happy endings, if it's not darkfic "commune" it's not my thing. that being said tho, i do really like

Admittedly, I'm a DD/Darkfic writer. I write and read about really intense subjects. Thus my perspective is skewed. To me that comic is 'light work, no reaction'. Maybe it's just me not getting how this can be seen negatively. I don't police other people. And I don't like being policed.

I absolutely agree with that, and I don’t like to criticize a darkfic especially when the story is not done yet and especially in this fandom

That being said it doesn’t make this less of a risky road to go down, darkfic authors are ( with nearly no exceptions in my experience) very aware of that fact, however,
The red flags are definitely there and relevant.
IdkMaybe if handled with continued caution it could be a better fic for it?

If we're talking about harassing someone by sending them stories we wrote of them being raped or killed then yes, you're harming someone, otherwise I don't get it. I thought y'all thought it was fine. What's the difference between this and darkfic? Uh people normally don't enjoy them...?
