My given name means "dark/black water/stream" in Gaelic. Hence, my standard internet handle was originally "darkpool." I later added an "e" to the end because I sometimes found "darkpool" was taken when I tried to register on a site.
My father's last name is Busiek, and so the whole family just kinda used it too, and he and my mom named me Kurt, so that differentiated me from the seven other Busieks in the house.
And it stuck.
Tea is my first (nick) name, I like Teaberry Gum and Berry-Blue Jell-o, and I have been using this as a handle since college, that’s really all there is to it.

My given name is a Gaelic word that means "dark/black water/stream" or something on those lines. "Darkpool" thus became my standard Internet user name back in the late 90s. But since someone else often beat me to it, I later took to adding an "e" at the end.
First initial, last name, birthday. I had used just jheaton on other sites (TWoP, LJ), but when I went to Twitter, that had been taken (by my sister! 😠) so I appended the numbers. I could've gone back to just jheaton here but I kept the numbers to ease the transition.
I am Emily St. James, but if you remove the "e" from "James," you get "Jams," as in NBA Jam or a fruit compote or a song that really hits you in a certain way. As I enjoy wordplay, I thought perhaps "Emily St. JAMS" (no E) would provide a chuckle to most and/or all.
