#datashuttle
A new version of datashuttle is out! Datashuttle helps organise neuroscience experiments by automating folder creation and data transfer.

Version 0.7.0 adds automatic validation, extends the available datatypes and several other improvements.

datashuttle is now published in JOSS!

A tool to automate the creation, validation & transfer of standardised neuroscience project folders — GUI or Python API.

The GUI works on all operating systems, even remotely via SSH!

Awesome work by @neuroinformatics.dev!

#datashuttle is a #Python tool for standardized #DataManagement in #neuroscience. It helps create, validate, & transfer structured project folders, bridging the gap between messy lab-specific folder systems and full standards like #BIDS or #NWB 👌

Managing neuroscience data just got easier!

Datashuttle keeps your research data organised, generating standardised folders and seamlessly transferring data.

v0.8.0 is out now and supports Google Drive and AWS storage.

This summer we took part in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) for the first time. In this guest blog, GSoC participant Shrey Singh talks about working on the datashuttle project.

To improve reproducibility in (systems) neuroscience we have developed:
- NeuroBlueprint (neuroblueprint.neuroinformatics.dev), a simple, standard data folder specification
- datashuttle (datashuttle.neuroinformatics.dev), to automate the creation, validation and transfer of NeuroBlueprint projects

And the same team at the @sainsburywellcome.bsky.social’s #Neuroinformatics Unit behind 🧠 #NeuroBlueprint also built #datashuttle, a neat tool to create, validate & transfer standardized project folders with ease. Didn’t test it yet, but it’s on my list👌

A lack of standardization can cause major headaches. Have you ever spent hours trying to make sense of how a colleague (or your past self) organized a dataset?

Btw, the built-in batch converter in #OMIO and several of my other tools already assume a #BIDS-like data structure. Thus, #datashuttle feels like a very good match ✌️

Datashuttle automatically creates and validates formatted folder trees for data storage. It also provides data transfer between machines.

Thanks to standardization, it is easy to transfer specific subsets of data (e.g., only the test sessions):

What I really like: #datashuttle does not force you to immediately move everything into a single container format. It keeps data discoverable as a structured folder tree, closer to how many neuroscientists actually prefer to organize and inspect their data I think 👍

datashuttle simplifies the adoption of NeuroBlueprint projects by automating the creation of these standardised data folders, and helping transfer them between different machines.

Making a call for JOSS reviewers for this neat package "Datashuttle" for organizing, validating, and transferring neuroscience data. Some folks from around these parts are in the contributors list! We have one review already completed, but the second reviewer dropped out […]
