Today I ran to the station & caught the train home. Down the Exe Estuary (flat) to Dawlish Warren, then along the coast to Paignton (increasingly hilly & lots of steps).
It’s a gorgeous stretch of coast. Much of it wooded. Firecrests calling along the way. Great views appearing through the trees.

Blimey, and I thought that the train to Plymouth used to get close to the sea when it went through Dawlish
I love taking the train between San Diego and Los Angeles since it's such a gorgeous view but there's just no way it'll still exist on the same track a generation from now.

Coastal conditions are expected to improve and no flooding is expected.

Yay, hard data to show my heart likes not being in AF: a ride down to Dawlish Warren and back, and I didn't get out of Zone 1 on the ride down at all, and only into Zone 2 (max HR 122) pushing a bit harder on the way back. I might yet do some French mountains during my Christmas stay!
