Rasismi ei ole vain niiden ongelma, jotka sitä kokevat – se on meidän kaikkien ongelma. Ja siksi meillä kaikilla on vastuu toimia.

In the middle is the following text “Racism can only be understood in the historical context of European foreign domination. Colonialism refers to the occupation, oppression and exploitation of one country by another through the use of military force. Racism serves as a means of legitimization for this process. Colonialism aims to secure access to raw materials, labor, and markets. Often, private trading companies, supported by royal charters, led the expansion — for example, the English East India Company.” At the bottom is “#DebtForClimate #CancelTheDebt” At the top right is the Debt for Climate logo in orange (raised fist with the outline of Africa and Abya Yalas [indigenous name for South America] and below it the words “Debt for Climate”. In the middle is the following text “EUROPEAN EXPANSION The Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494, between Portugal and Spain declared the ambition of the conquest of the world and marked the initiation of european colonialism. As early as 1528, the era of the slave trade was initiated with an agreement between Spain’s Charles V and the Augsburg merchant Bartholomus Welser for the delivery of 4,000 enslaved people. England, France, and the Netherlands soon became competitors. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Great Britain assumed dominance. Europeans established colonial empires in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. As a result of wars of independence, direct colonial rule on the American continents came to an end. With the occupation of Algeria in 1830, France marked the beginning of the age of High Imperialism in the late 19th century. The division of Africa was planned at the Berlin Conference of 1884/85 and was followed by genocidal violence, displacement, plundering, and exploitation. In addition to the United States and the former colonial empires, today new imperialist forces, multinational corporations, and international financial interests continue to drive neocolonialism.” At the bottom is “#DebtForClimate #CancelTheDebt” At the top right is the Debt for Climate logo in orange (raised fist with the outline of Africa and Abya Yalas [indigenous name for South America] and below it the words “Debt for Climate”. In the middle is the following text “THE RISE OF RACISM IN EUROPE At the onset of European expansion, the interests of scholars from fields such as medicine, anthropology, ethnology, and prehistory in funding for scientific expeditions for studies on human development aligned with the interests of principalities and kingdoms to explore regional conditions for occupation. Within these research groups, the evolutionist assumption took hold — the idea of a linear development from the so-called “primitive natural peoples,” as allegedly found in Africa, to “civilized cultural peoples” in Europe. This notion culminated in the construction of biological “races” and the “science of race”. Racist narratives — such as the cultural circle theory, the concept of tribal societies, the idea of the Third World, and other stereotypes — have permeated European thought, influencing philosophers like Heidegger, Kant and Hegel. The racially fueled European wars of conquest culminated in genocides, concentration camps in Africa, and eventually in the industrialized extermination machinery of National Socialism in Europe. To this day, racism continues to serve the function of asserting Europe’s cultural superiority by devaluing other cultures as “primitive” or “backward,” thereby justifying domination and exploitation.” At the bottom is “#DebtForClimate #CancelTheDebt” At the top right is the Debt for Climate logo in orange (raised fist with the outline of Africa and Abya Yalas [indigenous name for South America] and below it the words “Debt for Climate”.
