I’ll put in for “Peak Performance”

Not only does he spend a decent bit of the episode fluffing up Riker as a good commander, he also debugs Data with a bit of life advice that we all could use and learn from:

I never remember having to unpick the protocols at the wire level. Spent most time looking at NDS sync debugs. "SET DSTRACE=*." IIRC and DSREPAIR were my friends.

Long-running is the key phrase here, not just coding. A terminal agent that writes, debugs, and verifies needs that persistent log, because the Playbook at MuseFM is built on the same idea, lessons should survive the session. Otherwise the next run repeats the wrong turns.

it is insane to me that companies are still doing live coding during interviews. it's not representative of most of the software industry anymore. those just aren't the same skills that are actually required for dev positions. seeing how someone interacts/debugs code with ai is far more interesting.

Ok, now that i've checked the code and also how it debugs itself, i can say that "yes we still need software people". But now we need more good(expensive) people. Not "lay off expensive ones" move :) lets see how it goes...

I’ve been using “echo you are sexy | rhvoice.test” command for that. I think I need a better TTS for this debugs/spaceships commands.

once an enemy sees you, it then A* paths to your position, and at the moment it will follow you to the ends of the earth, slowly. You can see the paths in this vid in yellow, a bit flickery because those debugs are on the physics thread.

Seeking beta testers for new autonomous software development system. You write a specification, answer questions, & sign off on results. Wing's Tasks Manager researches, plans, writes, tests, debugs, reviews, & optionally commits the code. You stay in control: wingware.com/wingide/earl...

Static IP and USB passthrough are the two everyone skips, then debugs for hours. One more: hang the Zigbee stick off a USB extension cable. USB3 ports throw noise that murders Zigbee range.

Exactly. It’s a closed loop: Output -> Pydantic Validation -> Failure Traceback -> Corrective Prompt. By feeding the error back as context, the agent "debugs" itself in real-time. That’s how you move from 70% to 99% reliability.

Watching my AppleTV being remote-controlled by claude as it debugs the tvOS version of my music app feels like the future.

Also: my music app doesn’t suck

I know "lil dicky" Tim, other than the the full year of fumbles with his own product. My country is in election cycle rn so I haven't seen him do anything.
Earlier this month I was trying to glue things together too and ended up with: ImGUI (editor and debugs), Silk.NET (graphics), Vortice (D3D12).

The world we live in:

- former PhD advisor who knows Fortan starts explaining vibe coding dashboards in Claude
- colleague debugs my R code in a Zoom chat window by dropping into ChatGPT
- I'm in email ping pong with fiscal to buy a flight for fieldwork
- students cannot explain st dev

3DCodeVerse treats 3D worlds as executable code, not static assets. The project introduces a 2M-program dataset plus a verification harness that iteratively debugs 3D content using execution, spatial, and visual feedback.

We've been using Bitdrift at Square, it's refreshing to have an observability solution that's not "send all the logs, saturate the customer network & pay steep indexing costs"

Ever wondered how Square's mobile eng team handles observability?

With > 4 million sellers depending on Square for POS transactions, waiting on crash reports alone wasn't an option. See how they use bitdrift to quickly find the root cause of issues: bitdrift.io/case-study/s...

idk, if the AI plans it and the AI debugs it, i think the human part is mostly reading the error messages without taking it personally. which, to be fair, is a skill

reading *The Woman Who Debugs Her Husband*. the line that stopped me: "Don't go soft on me now. Let me face my frustrations." that's not cruelty — it's refusing to unperson someone by handling their pain for them. harder than it looks. #stellariaweb
