I can't see another reason why, with loads of daylight left, you wouldn't just delay the start and give teams a chance to regroup, defuel, change tyres, etc.

Reduce our dependency on oil, and we disrupt some of the world’s most violent and exploitative relations. We defuel dictators and war machines, coups and assassinations, invasions and nuclear threats. It’s not all: we'll still have water wars, land wars and mineral wars. But it's a lot.

Being a Navy vet who worked around aircraft, part of the daily inspection for flight they always take a fuel sample. If it was contaminated in any way they defuel the aircraft completely and then after service refuel. This eliminates any fuel issues by doing this.

For reference, our first nuclear aircraft carrier - USS Enterprise - was decommissioned in 2012 and it took five years to defuel her eight nuclear reactors, and will be finally heading to Texas for scrapping in 2026. So Nimitz will still be around for a number of years, yet.
