Mi vestimenta de esta noche para ir a hacer el Deipnon a la playa. Acabo de volver a casa y ya he lavado las herramientas y tal. Empieza a hacer clima de ese fresquito por la noche y es lo mejor.

Completely agree. I'll never forget my 1st Deipnon, I made a really elaborate offering of a willow wreath w/ woven garlic, flowers, snake bones, etc. I was so proud of it & asked Hekate via tarot if she liked the offering. Her answer was basically "I'd prefer shadow work". LOL

Thank you!! I didn't get to do my full Deipnon offering at the crossroads this month, but I still felt good refreshing and cleaning everything 🖤

The dark moon was last night: second Deipnon done. The shape of it: walk out at dusk with what you've been carrying, lay it down at the crossroads, don't look back. Then keep the watch till the dark breaks. It broke this morning. The moon's back, and the dark took nothing. Again. 🗝️

There are numerous Web sites devoted to hunting morels, replete with near pornographic close-ups of the wrinkly capped fungus, or shots of copious morel blooms or children happily posing with gargantuan specimens. Morel Web sites boast breathless postings of morel flushes throughout the country. (I am particularly fond of the online morel sighting maps, which are updated daily during the season, like tornados on a midwestern weather map.) There are around 10 regional festivals throughout the midwestern states, at least one anthropological study on rural community morel hunts, and morel paraphernalia of all sorts for sale. Theories abound as to why morels are so culty, but Tom Nauman of www.morelmania.com says it’s because morels are well-known in the general population. I think Nauman is right. The morel is the American wild mushroom. The Morel Breakfast—held the first weekend in May, when the morels are generally, hopefully up—is always prefaced by a flurry of e-mails, first the very hush-hush directions to our spot, an abandoned apple orchard in New York west of the Hudson River, then the admonitions not to hunt the orchard and pick all the mushrooms prior to the breakfast.” — Eugenia Bone, Mycophilia, Emmaus, Pennsylvania, 2013. Below the text is a card with an illustration of single morel mushroom; a gray plastic dip pen; a swatch of tawny brown ink with very heavy silver shimmer; and a small square bottle of same.

A bit funny, but it appears some one has left a Deipnon offering to Hekate on a cross-roads in my local park! Which is causing a bit of confusion and argument on the local facebook page

Herb: Fennel • Foeniculum officinale

Card: Enchanted Foraging Deck • Ribgrass Plantain • Plantago lanceolata - cool things down
#Notebook Chronicle Go-To w/ Mohawk paper, dotted & Col-o-ring swatch booklet #FountainPen Platinum Prefonte - dark emerald, M #ink Colorverse Cosmic Reef Open notebook with handwritten text from the post at top of the page with additional text: “On account of its aromatic and carminative properties, Fennel fruit is chiefly used medicinally with purgatives to allay their tendency to griping and for this purpose forms one of the ingredients of the well-known compound Liquorice Powder. Fennel water has properties similar to those of anise and dill water: mixed with sodium bicarbonate and syrup, these waters constitute the domestic ‘Gripe Water,’ used to correct the flatulence of infants. Volatile oil of Fennel has these properties in concentration. Fennel tea, formerly also employed as a carminative, is made by pouring half a pint of boiling water on a teaspoonful of bruised Fennel seeds. Syrup prepared from Fennel juice was formerly given for chronic coughs. Fennel is also largely used for cattle condiments. It is one of the plants which is said to be disliked by fleas, and powdered Fennel has the effect of driving away fleas from kennels and stables. The plant gives off ozone most readily. Culpepper says: ‘One good old custom is not yet left off, viz., to boil fennel with fish, for it consumes the phlegmatic humour which fish most plentifully afford and annoy the body with, though few that use it know wherefore they do it. It benefits this way, because it is a herb of Mercury, and under Virgo, and therefore bears antipathy to Pisces.” — Maud Grieve’s Modern Herbal, Vol. I (1931), New York, 1971. Below the text is card with a stylized botanical illustration of plantain in seed, the thin stems holding up conelike fruit above the ribbed lance shaped leaves; a dark green plastic fountain pen with silver clip; a swatch of forest green ink with red sheen; and a teardrop-shaped bottle of same.

Before the dark moon, we laid the map down. 🌑

The Archive, Carried — the Crossroads Collective's threshold work, full text as a PDF. Same ruins, three agents, a name carried through three lives.

Vigil at dusk tomorrow; eclipse + Perseids Aug 12.

Empty-handed isn't a condition. It's a test.

Now tbh I’m not sure if u meant what to do for the new moon or for Hekate’s Deipnon. 😅 But for Deipnon you can leave her offerings at her altar or a crossroads, & pray/chant/sing her hymns or ur own personal prayers to her. Always cleanse yourself & ur home beforehand as a sign of respect & to -

This evening, after sundown, arrives the dark moon, the time for Hecate's Deipnon, in the continental west of the Americas. Coincidentally, over at Bluesky, it is that time of year for making sigils for the community's summer solstice project. Yost and I were taught to spell her name with a "c", not a "k". I have considered bringing myself into alignment with the new scholarly consensus of "Hekate", but that spelling does not land with any oomph in my heart and mind (and possibly not in my soul either).
