Not only that, they can leave property vacant long enough they can qualify for restoration grants. They don't need to have paid derlict property tax because that's council tax versus government grant. Guess how many landlords are also developers?

We literally have this problem in Ireland. Large landlords letting part of their housing portfolio stay empty because property prices are just going up with scarcity & its easier to sell with no tenants and they can afford to sit on them Derlict property tax is on the honour system of self reporting

Johnson's speakership is now basically singular in American history for how terrible it was. When the House wasn't in recess it was derlict of duty in favor of just letting the executive play despot. Also, his majority was trying to eat itself from the inside out nearly the entire time.
