Carousel of memories

Three malls, two abandoned. A lot of good times at all of them over the years.

Photo of the namesake carousel, at Carousel Center, now DestinyUSA in Syracuse, New York. This mall still sports developer Pyramid's 90s era tile work, railings, mirrored escalators and overall ambience. Their remaining malls have all been bleached in uninspired remodels. The abandoned Great Northern Mall in Clay, NY. Taken from the interior of the Dunk and Bright Furniture store, occupying the former Macy's. The mall has been trashed inside due to TikTok kids breaking in, but the law has been cracking down thankfully. Development is awaiting funding for a mixed use development. The main entrance to Shoppingtown Mall in DeWitt, NY. Closed as a result of slumlord owners Moonbeam Capital Investments, it is now under county control and awaiting redevelopment into a new mixed use development, featuring apartments, offices and retail.
