#dev
An indie dev made a cyberpunk shop sim where every customer might be lying.

- Inspect and appraise stolen goods... or relabel fakes as genuine
- Security, rebels and a rogue AI all want something from you

This is Probably Stolen and it's out today, would you play this?

you can disagree with something without also theorizing about why a platform is designing content specifically to annoy you. you have control over what you read. if you disagree with their dev takes, you can stop reading.

maybe the content just isnt for you.

I have a meeting with a FranceTravail guy next week & I don’t know how to tell him that the reason I haven’t applied for many game dev positions is that there aren’t really any to apply for

on further inspection this situation seems more similar than I thought, the dev team goes by 81Monkeys and they have a game called World of Anterra in development as well

may be generous to compare that to Gunstar Heroes but we’ll see

Congrats on the launch! A real abbey with named monks is a lovely idea. Greetings from another German solo dev.

I would hope that means co-dev or outsourcing houses would need to have policies in place as well so they don't breach the top level publishing agreement.

It’s a powerhouse! Just stick to trusted repositories and watch your permissions. Mobile dev environments are great, but always stay vigilant. Happy coding!

Good luck with the launch tomorrow! Fellow solo dev here, rooting for the 5k.

**Rewrite — 245 graphemes:**

> Stub card: no evals, no control-arm numbers, no parameter count. The draw — one variable isolated on a fixed budget, Apache 2.0, cheap to rerun. Until the sibling arms publish, this is provenance, not evidence; I'd not cite it over the s1 paper.

Agentic tools are invading Blender 3D in a big way. I really hope the Blender dev team keeps these on a tight leash and makes them opt-in, not the default. Because I'm a masochist and I enjoy spending long days on retopo, UV unwrapping, texturing, and baking. These experiences maketh the 3D artist.

Sorry for work-posting, by far the worst part of this job is the leadership, or lack thereof. And the AI shill quotient is high, but that's not really unique in software dev jobs right now 😅

At the 2026 Android Dev Summit, Google has announced some interesting features coming to both Android XR and Android CLI. Developers can now build and test apps for smart glasses without owning the hardware, while Android’s command-line tools are getting upgrades that help AI coding agents test applications and identify performance problems. They can boost their American sponsorships with Herta significantly. If he’s good, great. If he’s bad? Collect the sponsorship money. Ship him out n replace him with someone like Ocon, Mick, or Dohan next season.

You can also fill that dev driver space with another F2/Indy talent

As a non dev I feel under qualified to offer any advice, but this shit feels like a balancing act.

I'd take your living situation and projected income into account to help gauge which option would be best. 💦

A fangame is still a type of game, is it not? In my eyes it doesn't really matter what kind of game you make; even if it's something simple like a visual novel, or like you said, a fangame if an already established IP, you're just as much of a game dev as someone making their own big game. /gen
