llallawavis was a part of the phorusrhacid subclade mesembriornithinae, characterised by a lightweight build and adaptations to chasing prey through open environments. it was likely a pursuit predator of small prey, a contrast to the robust ambush predators like kelenken and devincenzia

due to the paucity of remains that is typical of the group, the title of ‘largest terror bird’ is difficult to bestow with confidence, though kelenken and devincenzia are considered strong contenders for this honour

Well if you want live ones, maybe a Andean condor or a cassowary. If you want an extinct one to base it off of, maybe devincenzia or the elephant bird!

Wait, I was under the impression that Titanis, while very fragmentary, was thought to be slightly larger than Paraphysornis, and that Devincenzia was possibly ~800lbs based on it being a brontornithine? (Ironically named as it is since Brontornis isn’t even in it anymore)

Though Kelenken has been est. 100 kgs, the smaller Devincenzia has been est. at 160 kgs. In fact the lack of surviving phorusrhacid birds, or their close ecomorphological analogs, means published estimates are variable and contradictory.

Material assigned to Paraphysornis, allegedly proves it the heaviest phorusrhacid. But the designated material obviously confuses fossils from different animals.

The longest skull of a phorusrhacid belonged to Kelenken. The skull of Kelenken was 71 cms and that of Devincenzia was slightly smaller.

If Devincenzia really did weigh 161 kgs, and measure 2.5 meters tall, then the 3 meters tall Kelenken likely approached 280 kgs in weight. These estimates for Kekenken compare again, to those for the large, non-scansorial Panthera cats.

Devincenzia had a skull length shorter than that of Kelenken, nonetheless, its weight has been estimated at 161 kgs, although Devincenzia postcrania, are poorly known.

Titanis fossils remain too fragmentary to estimate its dimensions or mass anytgingblike reliably.

Maybe some terror birds, like Andalgalornis and Devincenzia, will want a bite of that meal, too.

Probably all the prehistoric animals I researched about, which is an field of interest of me anyway.
Terrorbirds like Kelenken, Devincenzia or Titanis Walleris really got my attention.
