When I was active duty (more than two decades ago) you could tell who was who…but I warned, then, that the ubiquitous default presence of Fox (faux) News in every DFAC and battalion/brigrade HQ would lead to very poor outcomes.
And so it has…
And ur also right about the generational divides.

I wouldn't mind honestly, I think it'll be interesting to read. I don't really know much about him anyways besides that he's in DDE and DFAC: R lol

I'd assume not. Dillon never handed those over, and the Dave from Dave and Bambi is a different character than the one in DFAC.

I kinda miss the weekends where all the barracks grunts from my ex’s company would come over to our house on base with their own meats and I’d cook-out for everyone vs them going to the DFAC.
Cooked SO many goddamn steaks.
Cooked SO many goddamn steaks.

Freedom dollars? Not free?
“…soldiers get $39 worth of “freedom dollars” a day to spend any way they want on their food.”
Why do we need a ‘drop zone’? Is DFAC more than a two mile march from the barracks? Nay, promoting a lazy attitude seems counterintuitive.

Yup! I am starting to notice more and more of these go bad now, and it's always on the switched capacitor filter output of the DFAC.

It really depends. the last 3 machines I repaired, all had the same fault. the DFAC itself was bad. One of those though had an open via on the analog feedback path. Strong tell on a bad DFAC is you'll have analog on pin 8, but nothing out of the switched capacitor output.

it sometimes surprises me how comforting it is to hear meal menus, an exchange rate, and weather for a place I'm not in, on the radio. not ads, just "here's what available at your DFAC, here's the exchange rate, here's the weather"

Here's two more characters I've made so far for the AU, Davy Dyer is DFAC Dave but I've changed his name to make him different from Dave in terms of design & lore. Millie Marman is Muko's deceased mother, her design is what she looked like before she passed. (Continued explanation in replies)

This was a fun repair, but I got it working! Macintosh Classic II. Needed a DFAC, an EGRET and 2 patch wires. Took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out, swapping between 3 DFACs.
